The successful artist needs to develop personal qualities in three important areas: a philosophy of intellectual and technical strength, a "world view" educational background, and a self-assured, creative, problem-solving ability. USAO's art discipline created its program of studies around these three basic tenets. Our professionally staffed art courses are specifically designed to teach visual language in a logical sequence of courses.

      This program reinforces and broadens one's professional education, preparing students for successful careers. The liberal arts mission at USAO is an emphasis on communication, and this department is devoted to aesthetic visual communication. USAO's art department offers a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree and Bachelor's of Arts degree, with concentrations in painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, commercial design, computer graphics, photography, and teacher certification.
